Tashi Delek and Congratulations to our new Kalon Tripa Dr. Lobsang Sangay la and NA Chitues Dicki Chhoyang la and Norbu Tsering la
Now the Election Commission from Dharamsala has officially announced the final result of the 3rd Kalon Tripa and Chitue for the 15th Tibetan People's Deputies.
I congratulate Dr. Lobsang Sangay la as the 3rd Kalon Tripa and the two newly elected North America Chitues Ms. Dicki Chhoyang la and Mr. Norbu Tsering la. I wish all of them Good Luck for their endeavour. As I mentioned before, I will totally abide by our people's verdict.
Most importantly, I thank my wife, relatives, friends and supporters who consistently sacrificed their time, money, effort and gave trust and confidence upon me during my campaign trail and my special thank you goes to my friends in NY & NJ, Minnesota, Philadelphia, Chicago and Portland for putting their special effort in organizing "Meet & Greet" events on these locations.
The fact to the matter is just being nominated as top 5 NA Chitue Candidates out of 80 initial list of Chitue nominations from North America itself was a great honour to me and having had the privilege of interacting and meeting Tibetan Diaspora in North America and knowing their lust for the cause of our country during my long campaign trail and being able to participate in all the 5 debates was a great experience and moral victory for me and for our Tibetan Democracy.
Please be assured that my effort for the cause of Tibet shall not diminish whatever the outcome of this Chitue result may be.
Thank you.
Sincerely Yours
Tashi Phuntsok.

Who are the Best North America Chitue Candidates? by Ngawang Choechen
Although I have due respect for all the five candidates and thank them for their decision to serve our community, since we elect only two candidates, I have decided to support and vote for Mr. Tashi Namgyal la from United States and Mr. Tashi Phuntsok la from Canada. I have taken my decision based on four criteria-education, experience, program and personality. Let me explain them briefly as follows. Read more...
Why vote for Tashi Phuntsok on Sunday, March 20th?
- At the age of 5, both his parents died, since then he became orphan and enrolled in TCV School, Dharamsala. Thus he has experienced the living conditions of the poor and an orphan child during his childhood.

- In 1998 March 10, Tashi is one of the participants of the unto-death hunger strike in Delhi organized by the Tibetan Youth Congress(Centrex) which later resulted in self immolation by Pawo Thupten Ngodup la.
- During his services as President of the Tibetan Association of Alberta, Tashi Phuntsok and his executives were able to achieve 100% Thanglang Chatrel contribution from the Tibetans in Alberta according to the latest 2009 report from Office of Tibet New York.
- In 2009, Tashi took the crucial role in making the visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Calgary, Alberta after nearly 30 years gap a very successful one.
- With the help of the Alberta government and the Association members, Tashi was able to boost the financial situation of the Tibetan Association of Alberta from $15000(approximately) to $ 600000/- without any loan from members.
Therefore his 30 plus years of services for Tibetans with Integrity, Transparency and Dedication, Tashi Phuntsok is the right choice for the North America Chitue.

Free Tibet Biker Lhakpa Tsering la endorses Tashi Phuntsok la

My fellow Tibetans, I am writing to endorse Mr. Tashi Phuntsok-la for CHITUE. I have known him for the past thirty years as we grew up together at the TCV school. I look up to him as a brother and an exemplary man whom I can follow. I got to know him even better when I was in Nepal after I left the school. He had worked hard countless times to contribute his effort for our community like TCV AA in Nepal and for Paljor office branch, Office of Tibet, Kathmandu, and Pokhara’s Tashi Pelkhel Tibetan settlement in Nepal. The list can go on if I write all his contributions.
As I was on the Free Tibet World Tour, Tashi helped me organize the event in Calgary , Canada. I didn’t have the time and resources to do all the local organizing myself, so I had to rely on others to help me. In some locations, where I didn’t have help, I could not meet with the communities. Tashi knows any Tibet-related project is important, and his help was invaluable. He thanked me for what I did for the Tibet cause. And it means a lot to me.
A month ago he called me to say he is running for CHITUE. I felt that he is the right candidate for this. He has experience, knowledge and also very important is he is the man of integrity, transparency and is fully dedicated for Tibet cause.
As I am growing older he is still the person I look up to. I wish him luck, and I am urging every one of you to vote for him on March 20 2011. I am positive he will not let you down.
Thank you,
Lhakpa Tsering

Former TCV Principal Gyen Tsewang Mingyur la endorses Tashi Phuntsok la for NA Chitue after the San Francisco Debate on February 20, 2011.
Tashi Phuntsok is the candidate that I want to endorse. He is full of enthusiasm, hope and commitment. I have known Tashi as student in TCV School, but this is not the reason I endorse his candidature. I met Tashi during a visit to New Delhi last year. He was coming back from the Tibetan community meeting held in South India. As we start talking he volunteered to share his observation and experiences at the biggest Tibetan Community meeting yet. He also shared his on going community service for the Tibetan community in Alberta Canada and his hopes and wishes for Tibet. As I listened to his burst of enthusiasm and sincere commitment to Tibetan cause, I felt as long as there are young Tibetans like him alive any where in the world, the Tibet issue will not die as easily as China hopes. Listening to him yesterday rekindled that feeling that the time has come to recognize the fire in our youth and give them the opportunity to serve the community when they are willing and ready.
